Challenges present Opportunities
We are all aware of the problems — inequities, racism, educational genocide, food insecurity, capital restraints, environmental concerns, housing challenges, depression, strained relationships, substance abuse, and on and on.
Yet we forget that challenges and struggle present opportunities — hell, they even give some of us purpose or what some will describe as a calling. As the old African proverb states, “no condition is permanent” but it does require a force to change the previous condition.
Question 1: Will you be that force?
Here in Richmond, there are many people moving in purpose who are working diligently and strategically to improve quality of life outcomes for people and business here. They are a force.
But the question is (Question 2): “Where and how do we discover each other?
Question 3: How do we expand each other’s network?
Question 4: How do we help each other scale and ultimately enhance the impact of our work?
One Contributing Solution: A Hub
I propose that we see CoBiz beyond its four walls, tables and chairs. CoBiz is a space where those in their purpose gather to meet like-minded people.
For an underserved community, it is our country club for entrepreneurs, creatives, non-profiteurs, students, professionals, and civic leaders to not only convene, but to sharpen their sword.
We can not do it by ourselves over an extended period of time if we want to attain anything that is sustainable.
So please see your time at CoBiz as investment in your purpose and in the reality you want to see. We finally have a space that is a resource to your purpose and a resource for the community. It will not be here without you investing in the ecosystem.
Question 5: Will you tap, will stop bye, take a tour, get a membership, receive being poured into while also pouring into others?
